Please find a link to the Social Security Advisory Committee’s public consultation on the above proposed regulations.

The consultation begins today and finishes on 10 September 2010.

This is the beginning of the ‘Formal Referral’ process. Typically this will last 3 months, at the end of which there will be a written report to the Secretary of State. The report then belongs to the DWP and, if the Secretary of State goes ahead and lays the regulations, it is the Department’s responsibility to publish the report as an ‘Act Paper’ (formerly a Command Paper) to be laid alongside the regulations. If you submit a response to the consultation you will be notified when and if this happens and send a link to the published paper.
