Final Call for East Lothian Challenge Fund

26 June 2017

East Lothian Council has been approved a European Social Fund grant to administer a local Challenge Fund which will take forward projects in the East Lothian area to support the strategic employability skills pipeline. The Challenge Fund is open to 3rd sector organisations. It will support projects which will assist in mitigating the impacts of inequalities and to actively target those clients who are furthest from the labour market and face a particularly challenging combination of barriers to employment (2 or more), particularly those in rural areas and areas of deprivation.

Projects should fit within the 5-stage employability pipeline and compliment existing provision.

Projects that address one of the following barriers would be particularly desirable:
•             Unemployed males over 50 years old
•             Mental health issues
•             Long term unemployed (both male and female)
•             Care experienced

We are seeking proposals from eligible organisations that have funds available to match with ESF funds and to join the Employability Pipeline.

The Challenge Fund opens on Friday 16th May 2017 and the final deadline for applications is 4pm on Friday 7th July 2017. For further information or to request an application pack please email:
