Local Authorities were asked to provide an overview of the activity being delivered in their area to support young people toward and into work. A pipeline mapping document was produced during 2012 and will be updated when necessary by the Local Authority.

  • Joined up for Business is a collaboration between local LEP partners and the Business Gateway service which provides businesses with an easy access route into a combined service which could save them valuable time and money on recruitment and training whilst helping them grow their business. The combined services are available to all Edinburgh business but there is a particular focus on engaging with and supporting micro businesses and SMEs to ensure their survival and growth and to help them fill the vacancies that arise as they grow in size and confidence.
    The services provided include; Business planning and support, filling your vacancies, retaining and developing your business, explaining funding opportunities to support your recruitment or business needs, and arranging bespoke training for prospective employees. Business Gateway have also recently introduced a HR advisory service to support those employers who require assistance in this area. The service is delivered by a combination of Business Gateway advisors, DWP staff, City Council Economic Development and SDS staff along with other local providers and with support from Edinburgh College and is co-ordinated by the Capital City Partnership. The innovative Business Gateway model also offers access to the full range of regulatory and other support services offered by the Council and its partners in order to meet its ambition of 'making it easy to do business in Edinburgh'
