Local Employability Website
Access2employment provides West Lothian residents with help and information on finding work as well as training and educational opportunities. The service is delivered by a team of skilled Employment Advisers in various locations throughout West Lothian.

Access2employment works in partnership with several organisations including Jobcentre Plus, Skills Development Scotland and the Voluntary Sector to ensure that West Lothian residents receive the help required to move them out of unemployment and into work.

Positive Destinations Website is designed as a "one stop shop" for information about moving on from school or college.  It has jobs, links to training, apprenticeships, colleges, universities and also provides case studies of what other young people in West Lothian have done.

West Lothian currently use Meganexus - features include: client tracking, performance management and is used by 6 providers in the area.

Employability Action/ Business Plan
The Lifestages Outcome Planning Model has been designed to support the development of robust and measurable quality of life outcomes and provides processes and tools to support the integration and alignment of cross-cutting quality of life activity across the Community Planning Partnership. The model assists planners to use national and local evidence to tackle inequalities by prioritising the needs of specific groups of people within local communities.

Making Change Happen - a support guide to implementing Life Stages contains some case studies of how services have started to change the way they work to achieve outcomes and how some of those changes have already impacted onto vulnerable people

The  West Lothian Labour Market Profile brings together data from several sources, and includes information on employment/ unemployment,  economic inactivity,  employment by occupation, qualifications, earnings by residence, out-of-work benefits and jobs (total jobs/ employee jobs). 

Skills Development Scotland
Skills Development Scotland have prepared local labour market information and intelligence for each of the unitary authorities in Scotland that includes:

  • Local Authority LMI Profile including; employment rates, claimant count unemployment, top 10 vacancies by occupation and youth unemployment
  • More Choices, More Changes report  including; 16-19 year olds not in employment, education or training
  • School Leaver Desitination Return and Skills Intervention Report

Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics (SNS)
SNS Standard Area Profile covers a range of small area statistics including information on health, education, poverty, unemployment, housing, population, crime and social / community issues at the data zone level and above.

Community Health Partnership Profile

Assurance and improvements plans 2012-15

Grassroots community groups across Scotland are celebrating as they share almost £5 million in grants from the National Lottery. The funding, from Big Lottery Fund's Community Spaces Scotland scheme, allows local people to get together and shape their neighbourhood. (March 2013)
