Finlay Laverty - Biography

Finlay Laverty is the Senior Head Business Development at The Prince's Trust Scotland

He is responsible for developing public sector (political and civil servant) relationships in Scotland which support the Trust's goals. Secures £4m of income for The Prince's Trust Scotland each year. Leads a Third Sector Team with Scotland wide focus on Policy, Public affairs, and National, Regional and Local Public Sector funding. 

His experience ranges from economic development work within a range of sectors in Scotland and overseas to education and skills development in local communities. From building businesses start up strategies and infrastructure (leading European Business incubator near Glasgow Airport), securing Scotland's competitive position for for inward investment (IBM's Pan European tech call centre at Spango Valley) to creating new solutions for matching Scotland's SME's with graduate labour (Graduate Into Business).

He sits on a number of Voluntary Sector representative groups in Scotland -  Third Sector Employability Forum Executive Group, National Voluntary Youth Work Organisations (Scotland), represents the Third Sector on Scottish Government's National Delivery Sub Group (skills and employability) and on Scottish Government's Strategic Delivery Partnership for Competitiveness, Innovation and Jobs
