Jamie Rutherford - Biography

Jamie is the Head of Employability at ENABLE Scotland, responsible for training and employability services for people who have learning disabilities in 24 local authorities across Scotland.

These range from youth advocacy services, transitions projects in schools and colleges, the Employability Fund, Work Choice and supported employment services that include services for people through self-directed support.

Amongst his key achievements have been leading a successful campaign to reform employment support in FE Colleges, launching Scotland's first self-directed support employment programme, designing an accessible version of the SQA Certificate of Workplace Readiness and partnering with the Scottish Government to extend national ERIs to support over 500 disabled young people into work.

As well as his role with ENABLE Scotland, Jamie sits on the board of both the Scottish Training Federation and the Scottish Union of Supported Employment.
