Scottish Employability Forum
The key role of the Scottish Employability Forum is to oversee approaches which increase sustained employment and reduce the dependant population across Scotland. It plays a key role in the achievement of the Scottish Government’s Participation, Cohesion & Solidarity targets set out in the National Performance Framework and optimises the contribution of all parties to the delivery of services for unemployed people.
The Forum will report on progress towards increased sustainable employment to the Scottish Government and will develop a clear communication plan about its work and also publish an Annual Report of its activities.
Success of the Forum will be measured against the following statements:
- We are helping, and quickly responding to, requests from local employability partnerships and other relevant forums to remove barriers to their effectiveness.
- We are improving information sharing and the co-ordination of the collective Scottish employability offer.
- We remain aware of, and respond to, real time labour market demands and changes.
- We are identifying issues, devising solutions, and taking quick action on key issues where only national partnership based responses can make an impact.
- We can demonstrate real and tangible change in the actions and interventions of individual partner agencies at a national level which lead from Forum decisions.
- To advance the national Government targets of participation, cohesion and solidarity we are capturing, maximising, communicating and triggering necessary changes in the contributions and value of all key players in addressing the employability challenge.
- We understand and are taking action to maximise the “win-win” between the employability agenda and other Government priority agendas.
- We have a clear and well communicated plan.
Forum members are key representatives of their respective organisations and have a responsibility to seek agreement, where necessary, from those organisations to changes recommended by the Forum in order to implement SG employability policies. It will support, guide and advise the National Delivery Group. Board members will champion employability within their organisation and partners.
