Report: An exploratory comparison of the interactions between advisers and younger and older clients during Work Focused Interviews

This report investigates whether there are differences in the content and structure of interactions between Jobcentre Plus advisers and younger and older cohorts during Work Focused Interviews (WFIs).  It looks at introducing the notion of work into WFIs, discussions about plans for work, and engendering a positive attitude to work.  It covers support for the back-to-work journey, mandatory activity and benefit conditionality, and age-related barriers to work. It makes recommendations for effective practice with older clients.
