Of the 32 Local Authorities in Scotland, East Renfrewshire has the 23rd highest population, with 60.1% of residents being of working age, between 16-64 years old. 

As of March 2019, 75.9% of residents in East Renfrewshire were economically active. Gross weekly pay for full-time workers is £495.90 which is £67.30 below the national average.

Between January and December 2017 there was 3,500 workless households in the East Renfrewshire Local Authority area. This represents 12.9% of households, which is lower than the national average of 18%.

Community Planning Partnership Aims and Structure

Community Planning Partnerships in East Renfrewshire are well established at both statutory level and across the wider community planning network. In order to maintain delivery and development of the Community Plan in a connected and sustainable manner, the high level community planning partnership is split into five main groups. Each group seeks to deliver elements of the community plan, with oversight and connectivity maintained by the Community Planning Partnership Board.

The Community Plan 2018, outlines 5 stategic priority areas, these are;
