Employability Events in Edinburgh
Employability Day events in Edinburgh showcase the city’s commitment to improving job prospects through strengthened partnerships between the City of Edinburgh Council and employability providers. This collaboration has helped streamline support for jobseekers, creating a more ‘joined-up’ employment network.
At the end of this week is the FUSE Recruitment Open Day (Friday 20th September 10am-4pm), an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking roles in hospitality and retail. With Edinburgh’s bustling economy, this event allows jobseekers to connect directly with employers, fostering real-time recruitment opportunities. The drop-in event is in the Guest Services Lounge on Level One of St James’ Quarter, offering more than 100 full and part time job openings from a variety of renowned brands such as John Lewis, The Botanist, Boots and Starbucks.
A highlight in the calendar is the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Roadshow (Wednesday 2nd October, 9am-3pm). Aiming at 16-24 year olds, the event is offering school leavers and young adults a chance to engage with potential career paths. By involving local businesses and educational institutions, this initiative focuses on closing the skills gap for younger generations. DYW Roadshow will provide interactions with employers and providers offering jobs, apprenticeships, training, volunteering, college, and university courses to give you the full picture of your options when you leave school. Parents and carers are also encouraged to come along to gain an understanding of the current and future landscape.
