Fair Start Scotland Annual Report Year 4 Published

On Thursday 19 January 2023, the fourth Fair Start Scotland Annual Report was published. The report focuses on the progress Fair Start Scotland has made in its fourth year and provides an insight into the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and emerging economic and cost crisis challenges. The report also details how Fair Start Scotland responded to these challenges via continuous improvement activities and service delivery changes.

We have also published the two research reports today:-
- Insights into participants’ experiences of Fair Start Scotland Year 4 (April 2020 – March 2021):- results from three online surveys’
- Fair Start Scotland Year 4: experiences of disabled participants or those with long-term health conditions and those from minority ethnic groups ‘: results from four focus group discussions’
OCEA analysts undertook two research activities (online surveys and focus group discussions) during the summer of 2022 to gather evidence on the views and experiences of Year 4 Fair Start Scotland participants. The two research reports published present findings from these research activities.
We are committed to the continuous improvement of our Employability Services to ensure that employability support delivers for all. Therefore, we will review the findings from the research study to identify how we can improve both the current service offer and inform the future delivery model of devolved employability support.
