No One Left Behind Data Sharing Agreement and Privacy Information Notice published

30 September 2022

The Scottish Government and Local Authorities have worked in partnership to agree a Data Sharing Agreement and Privacy Information Notice to ensure good governance of the data of No One Left Behind service users.

The Data Sharing Agreement relates to the on-going secure transfer of service user’s data between Scottish Government and Local Authorities. It documents the lawful basis for the data sharing, together with the principles and processes for securely exchanging and using the data. Once all parties have signed, the Agreement will be active from 3 October 2022.

The Privacy Information Notice is the public facing part of the data governance processes. It explains, in Plain English, how and why a service user’s personal data is processed, stored, and shared, as well as outlining their rights and providing contact information. Local Authorities, and those delivering services on their behalf, can refer to this when reviewing their existing Privacy Information Notices or can chose to adopt this wholesale.
